Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Advent Readings Discussion Series
Looking to explore faith a little more this Advent?  There will be an Advent discussion series this year to be held in the parish house from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm on the first three Wednesday evenings in December:  12/3, 12/10 and 12/17 (ideally this should be a 4-week series but the fourth Wednesday in Advent is Christmas Eve).

The program will be facilitated by Pete Lapre and the format will be a loosely-structured discussion of the previous Sunday's Old Testament and Gospel readings---perhaps touching on such topics as historical background, how the readings relate to one another, what we feel in the readings specifically speaks to us, what the readings might mean to us in our greater community and why these readings may have been chosen for inclusion in the common lectionary for Advent.

The goal of each meeting would be to spend 35-40 minutes on each reading and end with Compline. There would be no books or required reading as we will be only using the lectionary scripture readings.  Please come!
